Andy Allwood - Closing The LoopMarket research

Andy has practised as a market researcher for 15 years, initially as an Associate and then as a Full member of the Market Research Society. Much of his work is as a contractor for the London research agencies, for whom he works on mega-brands such as Audi, LG, Sony. Practising his trade at the “top-end”, for global brands, means that Andy knows how to apply leading edge research techniques to your marketplace, however large or small your business. Data Protection: Andy is registered as a Data Controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office.


The Warwick MBA is very marketing focused and it taught Andy the golden rule: “segment the market” – which isn’t a bad mantra for marketers to have!


Andy’s marketing expertise is a crucial part of his research offer because it means that his work is always grounded in the need for simple, practical recommendations. Hence his belief in “closing the loop” between research insight and action. Andy offers marketing expertise from two perspectives: the theoretical perspective of the Warwick MBA, and his practical experience as a marketer. 

Andy still keeps his hand in by “rolling up his sleeves” and assisting two London charities with hands-on marketing. The Tasha Foundation is a charity which cares for victims of drug and alcohol abuse. Andy has helped them increase the professionalism of their web site and email Newsletters. He is also helping Crossroads Care West London with direct marketing to find private sector clients to compensate for shrinking public sector revenues.


Andy worked at the seminal agency Allen Brady and Marsh, which produced many famous ad campaigns (“Secret Lemonade drinker”). It was at ABM that he first encountered qualitative research, in the groundbreaking work that Roy Langmaid did for Harp Lager.

All work and no play?
